I am sure you have or have had moments in life where it seems like your efforts to succeed in life - your dreams, goals, vision, at your workplace, business and other areas in life seem not to be paying off, recognized or applauded. Trust me, I know how that feels.
David had fought battles in solitude, no audience, no applause, no recognition but moments just moments where he relied on God to see him through the battles he had to face with wild animals.
Not even a member of his family especially his dad recognized all the efforts he was putting into preserving the family's legacy and business
But one day, just one day, the moment came for David to perform before an audience, to be recognized, applauded and be put in the hall of fame.
The whole nation of Israel was under siege by just one man named Goliath. All well trained soldiers retreated each time Goliath showed up. Saul - the king and leader at the time - shivered each time goliath showed his face. No one could come out to challenge Goliath even if it meant dying in the process and be termed a hero for generations to come.
Then came David, standing face to face with the giant that seemed impossible to defeat. Even King Saul laughed at him for wanting to challenge the man everyone dreaded but David remembered his moments of solitude - moments where he faced battles alone, no audience, no applause, no recognition just him in oblivion but God was always with him.
"But David said to Saul, 'Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned to me, I seized it by it's hari, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear.' - 1 Samuel 17:34-36
This was David's time to stand in the hall of fame, a time to display mastery of his craft before an audience to be recognized, applauded and this was what happened after he defeated Goliath with just a sling of stone.
From that moment, David kept on fighting battles he won to the point that women in the nation kept singing Saul has killed his thousands and David ten thousands. This put him in the hall of fame.
Your battles, your struggles, every work you put into your craft, every step you take towards realizing your set goals and dreams in life matter to God. They may go unnoticed by human eyes but not with God. He sees it all. None of these is wasted. These are moments where you get trained and God preparing you for the big stage.
Refuse to give up even when your efforts go unnoticed, unrewarded or unapplauded. Keep on keeping on. Keep pressing on and one day like David, just one more shot will bring you to the hall of fame.
