Have you ever heard the saying, "You can't pour from an empty cup"?
How do you fill your cup or what do you fill your cup with in the mornings? You either fill it with nourishing contents or you fill it with with harmful contents. You also either fill it half empty or full. Whatever you choose to fill your cup with will greatly impact your health positively or negatively.
Your life, your entire being, is like a cup that you either fill with positive or negative vibes. And what you fill it with will set the trajectory of your life.
Now, the question is, what do you do when you wake up in the mornings? Every morning and each day we get to see presents to us another opportunity to be the very best version of ourselves, live life to the fullest and give out our very best for that day either at work, our business places and to the people we come across.
The progress, success and fulfillment you get out of your day is highly influenced and determined by how you your mornings begin or what you do with your early hours of the morning before stepping out.
If you wake up grumpy and do nothing about being grumpy, it is highly possible that you become grumpy all day which will in turn affect your productivity and your relationship with people.
You may have woken up from the wrong side of the bed does not mean you remain so. You've got to fill your life with things or activities that will get you out of that grumpy mood and become your very best.
I don't always wake up feeling good. There are nights I go to bed with things that went wrong or not as expected but my morning rituals listed below set me up for the day positively. You can imbibe these morning rituals, add to it or develop what works best for you and make them become a habit for you.
1. MORNING DEVOTION : The first thing I do when I wake up is to go straight to my daily morning devotional guide.
2. PRAY : After my devotion, I pray about the lessons learnt from the devotional guide, I express my gratitude and thankful to God for the gift of life and a brand new day. I pray for family, friends and other loved ones as well as commit the rest of the day into his hands.
3. READ : I ensure I read a page or two of a book to boost my mental health for the day. Reading every day in the mornings or at night educates, informs and enlightens you. Reading also has numerous benefits mentally, physically and boosts the brains functionality.
3. WORK OUT : My workout session every morning is usually a simple one that could be just about 10, 15 or 20 minutes work out which include exercises such as planks, squats, bridges and launches. one minute Plank is usually my go to work out when running late. It is established that plank works on every part of the body stretching all muscles that went to sleep over the night.
Quote for the day - "We have so much to rush for, so many things to fix and problems to solve. With all of that is happening, I'm trying to remind myself of self-care everyday..." - Jonathan Van Ness
