Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs.) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has congratulated Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for successfully hosting the General Synod of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion in Port Harcourt.
In a statement from, the Government House in Port Harcourt Dr. Banigo said as the alternate Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee Governor Wike brought his wealth of experience to bear, as a prudent manager of human and material resources.

She said contrary to innuendos by his detractors during the 2015 electioneering campaigns, the State Chief Executive has continued to use every opportunity to demonstrate his love for God through his sacrificial contributions to the advancement of Christianity and God’s Kingdom which according to her is Legendary.

“Prior to the 2015 General Elections the opposition called him all sorts of names to disparage him, but because power comes from God it has pleased the Almighty God to make him the Governor at this time and he has made history as the first Governor to build an ecumenical centre for Christians in Nigeria. I wonder what they will say in 2019. I guess the narrative will change.”

The Deputy Governor said by the reason of the hosting of the Synod the Almighty God will open the heavens and pour His blessings on Rivers State and called on the Primate of the All Nigeria Anglican Communion Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh and all delegates to continue to pray for the peace, progress and all round development of Rivers State.
